The “Tree of Light” carpet is inspired by ancient Iranian mythology, where both light and the tree hold vital symbolic roles in the Iranian worldview. The tree represents life, fertility, and the connection between earth and sky, while light symbolizes truth, awareness, and the sacred.
In Iranian mythology, the Tree of Light holds a special place—sometimes appearing as the Gokarn Tree growing in the cosmic sea, holding the elixir of immortality, and sometimes as the eternal sacred tree, rooted in the earthly realm with branches reaching the heavens.
In designing this carpet, I have sought to reimagine this archetype in a contemporary and tangible language. Its composition is not only inspired by the form of a tree but also reflects the movement of light through its woven threads—its roots grounded deep in the earth, and its branches spread wide into infinite brightness.
